Ovulation Days Calculator
Choose the first day of your last menstrual period
Time between cycles
A typical cycle lasts 21–40 days. The average is 28 days.
Ovulation is the release of a mature egg from the ovary, and it marks the most fertile point of the menstrual cycle. Knowing your ovulation days helps you identify the fertility window — the days when the chance of conception is highest — whether you are trying to conceive or simply tracking your cycle.
How ovulation days are calculated
The calculator uses the first day of your last menstrual period together with your average cycle length to estimate your key dates. In a typical cycle:
- Ovulation usually occurs about 14 days before the next period starts.
- The fertility window spans roughly the 5 days before ovulation plus ovulation day itself, because sperm can survive several days.
- The next period is estimated by adding your cycle length to the first day of your last period.
Tips for higher accuracy
These estimates are most reliable when your cycle is regular. If your cycle length varies from month to month, track several cycles and use the average. Factors such as stress, illness, travel and some medical conditions can shift ovulation, so treat the results as a helpful guide rather than an exact date.
Good to know
- Signs near ovulation can include mild pelvic pain, changes in cervical mucus, and a slight rise in basal body temperature.
- Ovulation predictor kits and tracking apps can complement these calculations.
- If you have irregular cycles or are struggling to conceive, speak with a doctor.
